The Salvation Army Grace Mansion exists to provide safe, stable, affordable housing for individuals who are at risk of homelessness and are looking to work through barriers and issues that may have contributed to their lack of housing. It is Grace Mansion’s goal to help residents build supports in the community and help residents gain skills that will break the cycle of homelessness. 

Grace Mansion Transitional Housing supports men and women who are working through a variety of issues and obstacles. From those working through substance abuse, or mental health issues, to those who need help finding permanent housing because of the lack of available affordable housing in Vancouver. Grace Mansion works with individuals to create personal development plans that help them reach their goals, and build on their successes. 

Grace Mansion is a drug and alcohol free (including marijuana) environment but we understand that not everyone wants to live in a place with those restrictions. If you don’t want to live in a drug and alcohol free environment but are still in need of housing, please let us know and we will do our very best to connect you with low-barrier housing supports.

Length of Stay 

Residents can stay at Grace Mansion for up to 24 months. However, our goal is to try and help residents find permanent housing within 12-14 months of moving in.      

Eligibility Guideline  

o  Applicant must be 19 years of age or older

o  Applicant must have 90 days of sobriety  

o  Applicant must be capable of caring for their own physical needs, including hygiene needs 

o  Applicant is willing to participate in agreed program(s) 

o  Applicant is willing to abide by Grace Mansion’s rules and policies, and residential code of ethics.

o  Applicant must sign required forms, including Privacy Act related forms and Grace Mansion residential rules and regulations. 

o  Applicant must have an official source of income.

o  Applicant whom their gross Income level is over $2900.00 per month will not be eligible for residency.

Important Information

o  Please call in Two (2) weeks (following your application submission) to confirm that the processing of your application has taken place.

o  Please contact us Monthly while on the waitlist to keep your application active. 

o  Applicants where there has been no contact or follow up for a period longer than Three (3) Months will be considered INACTIVE and moved from the waitlist. Applicants are welcomed to re-apply.
